National Initiative Brain and Cognition
The National Initiative Brain and Cognition unites scientific and societal partners to address questions relating to cognition and behaviour. This powerful network will stimulate research and seek new ways of cooperation. It will facilitate the practical application of scientific insights.
The National Initiativ e Brain & Cognition includes components such as the NWO programme Brain & Cognition: an integrated approach, the FES programme Brain &Cognition: Societal innovation in health care, education and security, and many ot hers.
The National Initiative Brain & Cognition further supports the development of new strategic or applied research programmes, either in a national or international setting. The main aim is collaboration betwe en scientists in pioneering research, and cooperation with societal partners and business companies.
The NIBC is an independent Temporary Task Force which is financed by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Res earch (NWO) together with the Dutch Departments of Education, Culture and Science, Health, Welfare and Sport, Security and Justice and Defense.

Organisatie
The NIBC team is closely monitored by its Supervisory Board. An interdepartmental Sounding Board and a Scientific Advisory Board supply the Supervisory Board with advice. Read more
Partners
The NIBC brings together various national and international research partners, as well as a wide variety of societal partners from the fields of education, healthcare and justice and partners from large companies and SMEs. In total NIBC has around 70 partners. Read more
